In search of words...

Most writers have various elements of language that they obsess over, fetishize even.  I've written about my creative writing professor who was in love with the sentence, and about people who seem to think in paragraphs, always taking several sentences to arrive at one point.  Lately, I've been obsessing over a single word, but it isn't in the English language.  I am trying to discover the Tongva word for "fox" and am having no end of trouble in doing so.  As it turns out, Tongva has been a dead language since around the 1940s, having died alongside Tongva culture as civilization swept through California.  That being so, I have turned to a website that claims to research Native American languages in hopes of finding answers.

Hopefully they can help.
